  • Background: Heart failure is a progressive clinical syndrome caused by inability of heart to pump blood to supply the body's metabolism. Dobutamine is a short-acting drug which effectively low cardiac output syndrome by stimulating 1 receptors and 2 receptors causes increased myocardial contractility, heart rate and causes arteriolar vasodilation and bronchial dilatation resulting in decreased (SVR) Systemic Vascular Resistance and (PVR) Pulmonary Vascular Resistance and bronchodilation. Objectives: This study is aimed at discovering the usage pattern of Dobutamine in heart failure patients at KarsaHusadaBatu Hospital. Methods: This study employed observational retrospective method in heart failure patients at KarsaHusadaBatu Hospital on the period of 1 January 2016 - 31 December 2017. Conclusion: Single was use in 7 patients (58%), two combinations were 4 patients (34%), and a combination of three with norepinephrine and dopamine was 1 patient (8%). Most single use of dobutamine3μg/ kgBB/ mnt and dobutamine5μg/ kgBB/ mnt (IV drip), the most two combinations with vascon (norepinephrine), combination of three dobutamines is given with vascon (norepinephrine) and dopamine. Dobutamine is given with a change pattern of four switch models.
