  • Indonesia is one of the main coconut producing countries in the world. Coconut has important values and roles both in terms of economic and socio-cultural aspects. Utilization of coconut fruit is generally only the fruit meat to be used as copra, oil and coconut milk for household needs, while other byproducts such as coconut shell have not been used so much. One product made from coconut shell is the manufacture of shell charcoal which in the next process can be processed into active charcoal. The small scale business that was used as the object of the study was coconut shell charcoal business in Pule village, Kandat sub-district, Kediri district, which is an individual business. The objectives of this study are as follows: (1) knowing the process of utilizing coconut shells into charcoal and also what obstacles are faced by producers, (2) knowing the magnitude of the benefits from processing coconut shells into charcoal and how to increase profits. This research is a quantitative type of research. The location in this study was determined purposely, namely in Pule Village, Kandat District, Kediri Regency. The analysis used in the study of the Profitability Analysis of Coconut Shell Charcoal Business in Pule Village, Kandat District, Kediri Regency is cost analysis (TC), acceptance analysis (TR) and profit analysis (π). And calculate the profitability ratio by calculating GPM and NPM. The results of the research from the Profitability Analysis of Coconut Shell Charcoal Business in Pule Village, Kandat District, Kediri Regency show a total cost of Rp. 159,058,000, total revenue of Rp. 208,000,000 with a profit of Rp. 48,942,000. The profitability analysis of coconut shell charcoal business has a GPM value of 23.53% and NPM of 23.33%.
