The purpose of the research is to know the meaning of the sadranan tradition and to know the view of the urf against sadranan traditions. The research is the research field (field research). Data collection techniques in the study of using observation, interview and documentation. Researchers conducting the observation on the meaning of sadranan in the village of Karangmojo. The observation is done from the stage of the procession of the sadranan from beginning to end. Researchers also conduct interviews to community leaders and residents who follow the tradition of sadranan. besides it, engineering documentation is also used to obtain the data by taking a picture of a home documentation process sadranan now. The results of this research, namely how the meaning of a series of sadranan tradition in the village of karangmojo which is made on the approval of the citizens of the village karangmojo and the head of the village. This approval is done through a letter of ditand angani by the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia. In view of the Usul Fiqh, sadranan is a tradition that was already down declined and still lasts to this day. Sadranan is a worship tradition that shaped religious meal for surviving and as charity jariyah for dead. In addition, the tradition of sadranan is not a form of shirk and not violate the commands of Allah SWT.
