- The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of CPD in dogs with blood storage see the presence or absence in blood PCV value changes. Used nine dogs provided the dog is healthy. Each dog was taken 20 ml of blood samples and mixed with 2 ml of CPD anticoagulant. Before storing, each sample was calculated PCV values and see the results of PCV values. Furthermore, blood samples were stored (21 days) and thereafter performed PCV values calculated back to see the presence or absence of change or decline in value of PCV.This study used pre and post test design. Data analysis using paired comparison t test. The results showed significant difference (p <0.05) between blood samples stored with dogs before and after storage. That means CPD anticoagulant used in the blood storage does give effect to change the PCV values.
