- Nowadays appearance is the most important aspect for people. Appearance is one of most impactful aspect for people to show their identity. The most powerful standard that affect in people life is the standard beauty in society. Since the beauty become matter in society, it could be very problematic in way women show their identity. In this study, the researcher tries to reveal how cosmetic become one of the most impactful aspect for women to show their identity. The study concerns about the consumption of illegal cosmetic in everyday life among women living in Simo. The theory used by Mark Paterson will reveal the reasons and the identity of women living in Simo through illegal cosmetic. The researcher uses qualitative method that conduct with in-depth interview to explore the information deeper. The purpose of this study to analyze how illegal cosmetics are consumed by women living in Simo and how their identity was constructed. This study focuses on Simo district as population and women living in Simo as sampling.
