  • Research on the comparison of DPPH and Fenantrolin on the determination of the content of antioxidants in the four samples of eggplant (Solanum melongena L), which is eggplant purple Wren, index, kopek purple, and tekokak been done. Statistical parameters used for the validation methods are: linearity, SDR, Lod, LOQ, and% recovery. For comparing the two methods used F-test and t-test. Total antioxidant content in eggplant purple Wren, index, kopek purple, and tekokak with DPPH successively equal to 3.1756 mg / g; 3.1356 mg / g; 3.0635 mg / g, and 2.5761 mg / g. While testing with methods Fenantrolin row of 95.4085 mg / g; 36.1816 mg / g; 25.1095 mg / g; 71.6390 mg / g. Linearity both methods have the r value of -0.9955 and 0,999. The average value of the SDR DPPH Fenantrolin 1.84% and 1.38%. LOD value 0.0073 mM and 0.5483 mM, respectively. LOQ each method 0.0242 mM and 1.8278 mM. % Recovery DPPH Fenantrolin 97.19% and 95.22%. F-test and t-test showed that both methods have on average a significantly different and quite valid in determining the total antioxidant content in the sample eggplant.
