  • The objectives of this study are: Firstly, to determine the weight ratio of orange peel and groundnut shells charcoal in the adsorption of physico-chemical parameters of liquid waste cosmetic industry as revealed by the quality standards (Perda Jateng No. 10 / 2004). Secondly, to determine the effectiveness of the weight ratio of orange peel and groundnut shells charcoal in decreasing of physico-chemical parameters cosmetics liquid waste. Thirdly, to determine the model of adsorption isoterm of weight ratio of orange peel and groundnut shells charcoal. Data were analyzed by Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD), 3 treatments and 9 replications. As the treatments are various weight ratio adsorbent (gram/gram), which are 2,5 : 2,5 ; 3 : 2 ; and 4 : 1, respectively. To test the differences between treatments means, the Honestly Significant of Differences (HSD) were used 5% level of significant. The results of this study show that the addition weight of 2,5 grams orange peel can decrease the standard quality parameters (e.g. TDS, TSS, COD, Cd and Hg) while for COD is 4 grams in period of contact time 360 minutes. Optimal weight of the addition groundnut shells charcoal 2,5 grams is able to decrease TSS and Hg, 2 grams for TDS and COD, and 1 gram for Cd in period of contact time 360 minutes. The effectiveness of cosmetic wastewater treatments using orange peel can decrease the parameter of quality standards ranged from 51.22% - 73.25%, while using groundnut shells charcoal ranged from 45.73% - 96.44%. Model of adsorption isoterm paramaters of TSS and Hg follow Langmuir and Freundlich isoterm, while COD and Cd follow Langmuir isoterm. Maximum adsorption capacity using orange peel ranged from 0.0089 mg/g – 111.11 mg/g. Further on, model of adsorption isoterm (TSS, COD and Cd) using groundnut shells charcoal follow Langmuir isoterm, while Hg follows both Langmuir and Freundlich isoterm. The maximum adsorption capacity using groundnut shells charcoal ranged from 0.0011 mg/g – 66.67 mg/g
