- Departing from the three sided character of the document (physical, conceptual and mental), our work will focus on the documentary typologies defined by professional literature. Nevertheless, considering the new materials, new encoding methods and the new kinds of documents produced by the digital era, hypertext technology and the emergence of the world wide web, it has become necessary to widen the classical types of document with new types. It goes on to deal with documentary analysis, specifically focusing on two processes of documentary analysis, understood as content analysis: subject indexing and abstracting.
