- This research is a rationalistic description to analyze the attractiveness of tourism attractions in Museum Benteng Vredeburg in Cultural Heritage context. The research is conducted by exploring physical and non-physical attractiveness, factors that influence the interpretation of the attractiveness, and ways to develop the attractiveness . The purpose of this research is knowing the position of Benteng Vredeburg in connection with Yogyakarta tourism development and ways to develop it as a tourism destination. This research uses sources of primary data such as data findings in the site and secondary data that is obtained from documents of previous research. Data collecting is conducted by using questionnaire and interview methods to respondents and also analyzing research documents. Target respondents in this research are random visitor of Museum Benteng Vredeburg as many as 40 respondents. The result shows that the attractiveness in Benteng Vredeburg is very unique but lack of variation and does not show the heritage values of Benteng Vredeburg as an important historical building. In the interpretation of this attractiveness, some factors such as transportation/accessibility, amenities, tourism services, infrastructure services, and institutional elements have strong influence. The analysis of supporting and non-supporting aspects of those factors leads to finding the ways to advanced development that can be taken by the management board of Museum Benteng Vredeburg.
