- ABSTRACT The research was located in Yogyakarta Special Territory and it was conducted by taking 90 (ninety) respondents which were consist of 88 (eighty eight) creators who were picked up randomly, I (one) culture observer and I (one) sosiologist as resource person. Data were collected by giving questionnaire and interview and it were analyzed by descriptive and qualitative method. The outcome showed that the legal consciousness of creators to register the creation were still subside. It happened because of the difference or contradiction of socioculture system between Yogyakarta Special Territory society as communal society and the society where the intellectual property concept was appeared. It also could be explained with factual figures of the acceptance on intellect and intellectual property conceptions especially on copyright law had not well-disseminated yet.
