- ABSTRACT Jayapura, one of malaria endemic areas in Indonesia, is a source of potential malaria transmission for another area, so it really need effort to malaria control. In order to succeed in malaria control, the treatment and vector control measures must be done all together. The vector control measures will be succesful if the vector mosquito can be recognized better, because the mosquitoes have numerous cryptic species, or isomorphic species or sibling species. The objective of this study will to find discontinuity morphologic in the venation of An.farauti's wings, a malaria vector from many different characteristic areas (coastal or non coastal) in Jayapura by scrutinize morphometric. The results of this study indicated that the length of mean Aniarauti's vena and the ratio of An.farauti's vena from coastal area (Skouw Mabo and Skouw Sae) were significantly distinct from Asei Kecil (non-coastal) meaning that they were a different species or a sibling species.
