Daftar Isi:
- Yogyakarta earthquake on May 27th, 2006 caused severe damage to the Siwa Temple at Prambanan Temple area. In order to post-earthquake rehabilitation, an investigation was conducted into Temple structure, it was found soil filler in each layer of the stone Temple. The effectiveness of filler as fillers and adhesives need further research. The purpose of this research is to investigate the technical character of the filler, to find out the filler effect toward stone Temple formation in terms of shear strength, and to determine the appropriate alternative filler for the rehabilitation. The test was carried out to samples of Siwa Temple filler and soil alternative from relatively close location to the Siwa Temple, namely Matmajan Village (plagioclase) and Groyokan Village (montmorillonite), besides using additional Opak river sand which grain size less then sieve #4 or 4,75 mm of diameter. Samples characteristics examination consisted of physical, mechanical, mineral composition, micro structure, and interface. Technical tes was also conducted to stones Temple. Alternative filler was obtained by varying the mix design of all three sampling location and find out the most optimum mixture composition. Based on the USCS classification, Siwa filler is SM soil type. Mixture variation was conducted to approach grain distribution of Siwa filler, which is consist of Siwa 1 (Matmajan 70% + Groyokan 30%) and Siwa 2 (Matmajan 70% + Groyokan 25% + Opak 5%). Shear strength test between soil stone interface, was arranged at minimum water content and saturated water content, in purpose to know the worst filler condition. Due to test result, the best material for alternative filler in the stone formation of Siwa Temple is Siwa 2. It has two different technical properties from Siwa filler condition, but this soil type has good enough characteristic, it is guite water proof, has enough moisture, relatively good adhesion, low shrinkage ability, and swelling probability, and a good interface shear strength
