  • Annular flow is mostly encountered in mechanical device which consist of high velocity two phase flow. This pattern has complex structure and consist of fluctuating wave. The result of this experimental study is used to design two phase flow measurement device which still use expensive technology. So that, itâ��s important to perform an observation about this pattern. Experiments in horizontal acrylic pipe ( inner diameter 16 mm and 26 mm ) were done in order to observe the effect of pipe diameter on annular flow pattern. Experiment was performed through visualization and signal processing. Video camera is used to visualize the annular flow phenomena. While the data experiment for signal processing are obtained by using Constant electric current method ( CECM ) to find the behavior of annular flow,included the average of film thickness, wave velocity and wave frequency.. In the present investigation, it was found that pipe diameter plays an important role in mechanism of annular flow, specially on transition region between wavy to annular flow. In the same gas and liquid superficial velocity, annular flow is easier to be formed in the smaller pipe diameter. Liquid hold-up in the smaller pipe is thicker than in larger pipe. Pipe diameter also influences the characteristic of wave. Liquid wave at 16 mm diameter pipe moves faster than liquid wave at 26 mm diameter.
