- In Indonesia, the economic valuation of the value of ecological economics derived from mangrove forest which is based on the indirect use value, option value, existence value and the value of heritage is often overlooked. As a matter of fact, this valuation is essential for both government at district and central level for coastal management, particularly the management of mangrove forests in a sustainable manner. The unavailability of accurate value of the economic value derived from the ecological value of mangrove forest resources may result in the damage or loss which is not perceived as a disadvantage. Consequently, there are many components of the ecology of the mangrove that receive no / less attention in the further management.
