- This study aims to determine the abundanc and diversity of macrobenthos, mangrove habitat classification based on abundance and diversity of macrobenthos, habitat factors that characterize the habitat classification in Baluran National Park. This research begins with a set number of lines at the study site, which was conducted by a combination of square methods and line method. The location plots is placed in a systematic sampling where 4 plots on the proximal zone closest to the sea, 4 plots in the medial zone and 4 plots on distal zone adjacent to mainland. The distance between plots is 50 meters. Tree level of mangrove vegetation, salinity, DO, pH and temperature is observed and measured on each plot. Thus, based on the calculation, the total number of plots as many as 12x5 or 60 plots. To obtain an index value of species diversity (H ') and evenness index (E) the formula of Shannon-Winner was used, the abundance or dominance index (DI) was calculated by using Simpson's formula and the abundance of the Wibisonoformula. To find out the significant next of the three zones the discriminant analysis was applied by first grouping the mangrove habitat using cluster analysis. The results showed that the diversity index was categorized as good with stablemacrobenthoscommunity structureconditions. Abundance of macrobenthos in Baluran National Park ranges from 1657 - 3018 individual/m2. The results of cluster analysis showed the proximal and medial of the observation zone havea higher macrobenthosabundance and diversity than that of the distal zone. Based on the results of the discriminant analysis, salinity, DO and temperature factors are the main factors that characterize the mangrove habitat grouping.
