New record, based on a video of a specimen taken off Nusa Island, Kavieng District, 2–18 m depth, St. KR 32, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); another taken at Nubilus Island, off eastern New Hanover, 3–25 m depth, St. KR 90, in 2014. Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Fiji, south to Queensland (Australia) and New Caledonia. Found in passes and on seaward reef slopes, 6–40 m depth. Marine.
