- The purpose of this research is to reveal how scientific approach can improve students’ speaking skill to the seventh grade of MTs. IKA-PGA Baiturrahmah. This research is based on the phenomena that students of the seventh grade of MTs. IKA-PGA Baiturrahmah Pontianak have difficulties in aspects of speaking English such as pronunciation, fluency, and comprehension. The researcher used classroom action research that was done in two cycles. There were three meetings in each cycle. The participant of this research was 27 students in the seventh grade of MTs. IKA-PGA Baiturrahmah. The data collection was done by using observation and test. The data analysis was presented by qualitative data and quantitative data. In qualitative data, the researcher described the teaching learning process. While in quantitative data, the researcher calculated the students’ score in speaking test.
