  • TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION BY USING LAPBOOK TO THE EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMP NEGERI 1 NANGA PINOH IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2015/2016. Main Supervisor: Tri Kurniawati, M.Pd; Assistant Supervisor: Diah Astriyanti, M.Pd. The purpose of this research was to find out whether students’ comprehension in descriptive text is effective or not when taught using Lapbook, and how strength effective in teaching reading comprehension in descriptive text. The researcher used Pre-Experimental design where the researcher used pre-test and post-test. The technique of sampling in this research was cluster random sampling. The researcher used measurement technique by using a test in collecting the pre-test and post-test data of the students. In analyzing the data, the researcher used Parametric statistics. In finding the data, the researcher used Paired Sample T-test because data was normal distribution and by using Paired Sample T-test the researcher found that Lapbook was effective because based on the Paired Sample T-test, the result of post-test sig lower than (p < 0,05) or (0.000 < 0.05) so Ha accepted and the Effect Size showed the value 0.169 so the Lapbook Strong effect in teaching reading comprehension in descriptive text.
